“Realizing a healthier world through Jesus.” We at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cambridge strive to live into our Vision Statement in all we do as a congregation centrally located in the Preston area of Cambridge. Regardless of your age, race, gender, economic status, marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity, you are warmly invited to join us each week as we gather to be strengthened and nurtured through Word and Sacrament. In response to the gospel’s call to ‘go into all the world’ we seek to show God’s love to those outside our doors through our outreach efforts. We provide warm hats, mittens, and scarves to anyone in our community who might need a little warmth in the winter. The public is welcome to harvest any fresh vegetables they might need from our Jesus Garden on the front lawn with surplus produce being donated to the Cambridge Self-Help Foodbank. We work in partnership with local support groups such as Home Hospice Association, Waterloo Region, and several 12-Step Groups. In addition to meeting the needs of existing members through confirmation classes, Sunday School, youth group, weekly bible study, monthly Adult Learning opportunities, and a monthly book discussion group, we at St. Peter’s constantly strive to be of support to our local community either through new initiatives or by supporting existing programmes If outreach to the wider community and taking advantage of spiritual growth opportunities would encourage your personal faith-journey, you are encouraged to drop in. The Worship Service begins at 10:00 AM with Sunday School for all ages following the service.
Sunday 10 am Holy Communion.
We encourage families to bring children to our worship services. Small toys, colouring books, snacks and games are available to occupy small hands so that small ears and hearts may focus on the teaching. If children require a separate space, the service may also be heard in the nursery. The nursery is not staffed at the present time.
We have two accessible entrances suitable for wide wheelchairs. One provides direct entry to the music room on the lower level. The other provides access to two chairlifts: to the sanctuary level, and to the lower level. We also have ramp access directly to the rail for communion, and serve communion in the pew as requested.
