Mount Olive is a medium-sized congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. Our congregation is well-established and multi-generational. Our hope is that you will feel welcome and that you will experience the love of God among us. To that end, coffee and fellowship follow each Sunday worship service. Throughout the year, numerous fellowship events occur such as seniors lunches, Christmas bake sale, ethnic dinner, Easter breakfast. Our congregation has a variety of denominational backgrounds. We use a variety of liturgies and have a marvelous musician to assist us. Being nurtured in worship, we strive to meet Christ in each other and in the world. Regular activities at Mount Olive include: Sunday School, confirmation, youth group, choir, Bible study, quilting, card ministry, brown bag lunch, ladies fellowship and men's fellowship. Our building is used every day of the week, by both our members and other agencies. We provide meeting space for community groups such as: AA, GA, Newcomers, TOPS, Sparks, Brownies and Girl Guides. We also have a close relationship with Surrey Urban Mission and the BC Synod.
Sunday 10:15AM The Eucharist is celebrated weekly.
Sunday School occurs between September and May. Children begin in the service, are dismissed to their class following the children's story, and rejoin the congregation for the last part of worship as we celebrate the Lord's Supper. A nursery room is located at the rear of the sanctuary for younger children.
