Our congregation is making the transition from a maintenance church to re-establishing St Matthew's as a growing and vibrant member of the community of Hanover (pop. 7,000). We have a large, well-maintained building capable of holding four hundred for worship and we have an auditorium/gymnasium as well as many rooms for educational and social activities. These facilities are available to the general public. Our Sunday school is growing and nearly half our confirmed members worship each Sunday. We are active in providing aid to our overseas mission partners through fund-raisers and Sunday offerings. We also reach out to the people of Grey and Bruce Counties through our television broadcasts and nursing home services, Adult Bible Studies (open to all)and by being active ecumenically as a part of the Hanover Ministerial Association joining with many of our fellow churches in a wide range of activities. We are a community that is growing and growing with us and within us is the love of Christ.

Our church nursery is open and available to parents with children. At present there is not church provided supervision. If parents choose to use the facility they can still listen to the service as it is broadcast to the nursery.

To be a committed, loving and welcoming community faithful to the Good News of Jesus Christ. Seeking to reflect the Christian Gospel with our emphasis on grace, we celebrate our shared baptismal journey by promising to enter into loving and hope-filled ministry with all who seek God wherever we might encounter them.We aim to build partnerships within the larger community and be good stewards with all that God has blessed us. We look to carry on vibrant ministries to young families and people of all ages and create opportunities for them to be in ministry together.
